Dental Cleanings
What it is:
A professional dental cleaning, also known as a prophylaxis, is a thorough cleaning of your pet’s teeth performed under anesthesia. Going far beyond what at-home brushing can achieve, we target areas below the gumline where plaque turns into hard tartar.

Why a pet might need it:
Plaque and tartar buildup can lead to gingivitis, bad breath, gum recession, and eventually periodontal disease. Even pets with well-cared-for teeth need occasional professional cleanings to keep their mouth healthy. Regular cleanings can extend your pet’s life by reducing the risk of bacterial infections that affect the heart, liver, and kidneys.

How it works:
Once your pet is comfortably anesthetized, the veterinary team performs a complete oral exam with dental imaging to look for hidden issues underneath the gumline. The teeth are scaled to remove plaque and tartar both above and below the gums, then polished to smooth the surfaces and slow future buildup. Your pet wakes up with clean teeth, fresher breath, and healthier gums.
