About Us

Our story began over a century ago in a historic building founded by Dr. Albert Gieske in 1915, the original home of Barrington Animal Hospital. For generations, the general practice has been dedicated to exceptional animal care and community service.

 

In 1991, Dr. Barbara Stapleton purchased the hospital, continuing its legacy while expanding its capabilities and medical excellence. After earning her board certification in Veterinary Dentistry in 1997, Dr. Stapleton established our hospital’s dental specialty service—one of the first of its kind in the region.

 

In 2020, Dr. Joanna Krol took on Dr. Stapleton and the hospital's legacy, buying the practice. Originally based at 216 S. Northwest Highway, the general practice expanded to a larger facility, at 353 W. Northwest Highway, to meet growing demand. 

 

In 2005, Dr. Ford joined the team at the original Barrington Animal Hospital location, where she later completed her residency in Veterinary Dentistry under Dr. Stapleton’s guidance.

Dr. Caroline Washington joined Barrington Animal Dental in 2016 after several years in general practice, bringing passion and skill in advanced dental and oral care.

In 2026, our dental specialty team returned to its historic original home at 216 S. Northwest Highway—where our story began—to expand and continue providing compassionate, specialized dental care to pets throughout the community.

Today, Barrington Animal Dental combines decades of experience, advanced technology, and a deep commitment to patient comfort to deliver the highest standard of veterinary dentistry.
